This page comes from the newsletter of Broadmead Baptist Church, known as The Record. The Record has been produced since 1934.
This cross, like all representations of the cross of Jesus Christ, symbolises his suffering and death for all humanity.
The arms reach outwards, like the arms of God, in love and forgiveness, gathering all suffering to himself
The space between the two upright members represents the fact that Christ is no longer dead. Beyond the cross there is the Resurrection.
The upright members point upwards to denote Christ's Ascension.

Intercessions:
Week 1. For those who serve our city as councillors: give them wisdom in their decision making on our behalf. We pray also for the Police, Fire and Ambulance services as they work in difficult and dangerous situations.
Week 2. For our Church Steward and his assistants as they care for our church premises and as they welcome the many visitors who use these premises for their meetings week by week.
Week 3. For young people who travel abroad with the Voluntary Services Organisation to work and gain experience of life in the Third World, and to help where they can.
Week 4. For the Church Trustees, the Diaconate and Pastoral Care Team, as together they care for the Church and congregation. Give them encouragement in service.
